Group script writing.

In this task we wer given a short story and in groups we had to come up with a Screneplay and story board.

EXT. COUNTRY SIDE. NIGHT
An old car drives along a deserted countryside.
CUT TO:
INT. CAR. NIGHT
A man in his mid forty's is behind the wheels with his teenage daughter beside him. The radio plays in the background with distorted frequency. The daughter gazes out the window.
FATHER
You know you could have just grabbed a taxi. I mean, God only knows how busy I am just to make ends meet.
The girl rolls her eyes and huffs and tries adjusting the radio's frequency.
FATHER
Ah, honey I...uh..Sorry I didn't mean...It's just, you know how it is..for me working a double shift..mine and your mom's divorce.
As the daughter adjusts the radio frequency which fails to work properly, she hits the radio real hard in anger and it switches off. Silence creeps in and the daughter continues to gaze out the window with her arm leaning on the arm rest. Suddenly, her gaze turns into a stare as something grabs her attention.
DAUGHTER
Dad stop! Stop!!!
The father abruptly hits the sudden break and jolts.
FATHER
What the?!?
DAUGHTER
Someone's back there!
FATHER
In the middle of nowhere?!?!
The daughter leans out her window and looks out behind.
CUT TO:

EXT. COUNTRY SIDE. NIGHT
A young girl sits curled up on the side of the road, wearing a pink frock and clutching onto something like a part of a stuffed toy. The daughter looks at the girl and calls out.
DAUGHTER
Are you alright there?
The young girl remains still and quiet. The daughter looks at her and tries to question again while her father observes from the rear view mirror.
DAUGHTER
Are you out here all by yourself?
The girl remains unresponsive.
DAUGHTER
Do you need a lift?
The young girl gets up, slowly walks towards the car and enters at the back seat.
CUT TO:
INT. CAR. NIGHT
The father squints and observes the young girl from the rear view mirror. The daughter looks behind.
DAUGHTER
Do you know where you live?
After a moments pause, the girl responds.
YOUNG GIRL
Old country house..
FATHER
That's about 5 miles ahead.
The father accelerates further.
CUT TO:
EXT. COUNTRY SIDE. NIGHT
The car drives down the road.
CUT TO:
INT. CAR. NIGHT
DAUGHTER
So what were you doing out there by yourself?
The daughter turns back to look at the young girl, who does not respond but coldly glares out the window. The daughter notices the girl is holding onto what appears to be a broken arm of a stuffed toy bear. She turns back to the front, looks at her father and shrugs.
CROSS DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. OUTSIDE OLD COUNTRY HOUSE. NIGHT
The car slowly pulls over right outside the Old Country House which appears to be slightly dingy.
CUT TO:
INT. CAR. NIGHT
The father glances at the house from the front window.
FATHER
Well, here we are...
The father looks into the rear view mirror and is startled. He quickly turns his head to look at the girl behind, who is not there anymore.
FATHER
Where'd she go???
The father and daughter exchange mystified looks to each other. They sit there, perplexed.
CUT TO:
EXT. OUtside the door of old country house. night
The father and daughter walk towards the front porch of the house. The daughter looks at her father with an apprehensive expression. She knocks on the door and within a moment the door opens and they are confronted by a couple in their mid fifties. The couple doesn't seem surprised to see them.
WIFE
Don't worry. We know why you're here.
The father and daughter are puzzled.
DAUGHTER
Wha?!?! Huh?!
HUSBAND
You thought you found our daughter? She disappeared 20 years ago.
The father and daughter listen intently but baffled.
HUSBAND
Every year, on this day, we get people on our doorstep, just like you.
The father and daughter appear dumbfounded.
wife
Today was her birthday...
The father and daughter exchanges glances to each other and look down at the lady's hand, in which she is gently holding a stuffed teddy bear with a missing arm.
